GENERAL

How long does the conversion process take?

5 - 7 days for most orders. Bulk orders can take longer.
Do you label the CDs and DVDs?

Yes. All CDs and DVDs come with a custom label printed in black font.
What packaging is used for the CDs and DVDs?

CDs are supplied in a standard jewel case.
DVDs are supplied in a 13mm DVD library case.
Can you transfer my memories to an external hard drive/USB flash drive AND DVD/CD?

Yes. For both formats, the cost is double.

What video sources can you convert?

BETA, VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, hi8, digital8, miniDV and microMV.
What file format do you write to the DVDs?

MPEG-2
How many hours of video can you put on a DVD?

To ensure maximum quality, we do not exceed 2 hours of video per DVD.
Does the conversion process enhance the video quality?

No. The video will maintain its original quality.
Will I be able to edit the video on the DVDs?

Yes. Assuming you have suitable software and a capable computer.
Do the DVDs come with a menu?

Yes. All DVDs include a startup menu with a title, background music and a play button.
What type of video editing can you do?

Scene removal, joining of multiple scenes, adding chapter points at specific points, adding music, overlays, audio dubbing, scrolling titles, slow motion, replays and more.

What audio sources can you convert?

Vinyls, CDs and cassettes.
What file format do you write to the CDs?

CD Audio (higher quality, larger file size) or MP3 (lower quality, smaller file size)
How many hours of audio can you put on a CD?

CD Audio format - approx. 80 minutes
MP3 format - approx. 7 hours
Does the conversion process enhance the audio quality?

No. The audio will maintain its original quality.

What image sources can you convert?

Photos, 35mm film (negatives and positives) and 35mm slides.
Does the conversion process enhance the image quality?

Yes. The scanned image is enhanced using special software which revives the colour and light intensity and removes scratches and dust.
At what resolution are images scanned?

Photos are scanned at 150dpi, and slides and negatives are scanned at 600dpi, unless otherwise specified.

Where are you based?

We are based in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
How do I get my memories to you?

For orders over R600 - we offer free collection and delivery in a radius of 25km from our studio in Northcliff.
For orders below R600 - please use one of our designated drop off and pick up points:
- 3@1 Cresta (Roof level, close to post office)
- 3@1 Clearwater (Entrance 4, opposite Nedbank)
- Our studio in Northcliff, Johannesburg (address on request)
Can I courier my memories to you?

Due to the delicate nature of these products, we do not recommend using the postal services.
We do, however, recommend the courier service from your local 3@1 branch to our local 3@1 branch (Cresta Shopping Mall).
